Really? Ched is obviously fit and a very good player at this level.

 

I think we should be looking at better than a guy of his age who as you say had a bad injury and not been tested to see if he's up for it " because at least 4 other teams are interested in signing him" some transfer policy that.
Maybe thats why we were interested because if there are 4 other teams interested he certainly won't be joining us.

 

Has anyone else seen the comments from Collins in the T&A re the York game tomorrow and how we are progressing in pre-season? I was both impressed by some of his words and at the same time worried sick - I like that he is honest enough to say we are no where near being ready and that we need to 'drip feed' the processes they are looking for from the players but the transfer deadline and need to hit the ground running are only just over 3 weeks away! He says if we get the players in they are looking for then he is confident we will do ok - but begs the question what happens if we dont get them in? The answer probably doesn't bare thinking about right now as there is already still so much that seems up in the air at the club. As for tomorrow I am not too bothered by the result but we need to start to see a pattern of play forming, signs of leadership both on and of the field and an indication of how and who are going to create and take chances.

The main problem, and why we're having to resort to mentioning players like Evans, is that 1) we're lacking up front, but more importantly, 2) there's no one really available to sign. I haven't even seen the usual rumours bandied about - that shows the state of the forward transfer market at the moment.
Fully expecting us to sign an inexperienced Championship or Prem reserve/youth striker, who will have massive pressure on him to score goals for fun, fail miserably, and then we all talk about missing out on forwards in the LAST transfer window again.

My thoughts are that you are probably as wide of the mark as your assertion that our new Head Coach was going to be an appointment with no experience of working in England

 

Simply because he’s Park. This is what he does.
Evans is proven at this level but Park doesn’t rate him.
Riley is unproven at any level but Park is adamant that he’s a “great signing”..!
