When did we last play in the Championship? Or even league one for that matter? How many years has it been since a promotion or even something to get even slightly excited about?

They have money. Investing it in training facilities and a new ground. Conveyerbelt of talent and a top L1 side that flirt with the Championship now and again.

It’s my area and in the local news quite a bit. Basically the football club wants the council to give them an interest free loan to build it. They have NO FUNDS as you wrongly suggest.

They haven’t got the Council to finance it as planned ( They aren’t stupid) They are also trying a “ bond” to get the fans to pay for part of it. It’s all smoke and mirrors
Latest info is the Council said NO to a loan and refused planning permission even before they got any finance . Please, don’t kid yourself they have funds..they certainly have not.

Oh my word. How wrong can you be in the first sentence . See my other post Sergio, the facts are there, not wild guesses.

 

They have money....youve only got to look at their transfet history and even then they have saleable assets.

Youve proven absolutely nothing. And letd agree in a far far better position than us which was the original point aimed at posters sneering at them.

 

I don't get the hatred to him at all. Yes he's opinionated and has a mouth on him but so what? He's turned what was a club with no history at all into a club that, like you allude to, punches well above its weight. Meanwhile us, who Darragh gives praise to in terms of our fan base, continues to float in the shitpool. Had he been in charge of us we'd never have been in league 2 for all those seasons.

 

Hughes did sign him at Stoke from Blackpool, albeit he did play in their under 23s/youth team at the time and never made it to the first team. So they will know each other on a personal level. He is from Burnley as well, so it depends on if he wants to move further north or if he's settled, which I haven't a clue on. As per twitter talk, I've read that Port Vale are supposedly interested as well, there was talk of Barnsley, but I don't think he's a top end league one striker, as he's not consistently proven himself at that level, e.g. when he was at Plymouth. Added to that Barnsley are still managerless, so I doubt will be signing anyone just yet. Money wise it all depends on what he's offered, as someone like a Salford or Wrexham could offer him silly money. I'm guessing if we are to fight for him, it will probably take some Mark Hughes charm and a 3 year deal minimum.

He's definitely however, a striker what we should be going for, decent pedigree and different to the strikers we already have in the building.
