Restaurants and stuff

Apparently Moody Cow at Apperley Bridge has closed down now, had reduced to three days only

 

Rumour doing the rounds is that Akbars have bought it.

Back from a short break in the Wye Valley. Lovely part of the world. Stayed at the Saracen's Head Inn at Symond's Yat. Superb breakfasts. The full English option included proper fried bread.
They openly admitted they are struggling to recruit staff and this affected wait times for food.
Portions huge. The meals on our first 2 nights were fine, I would say good pub grub, but whoever was the chef on the last night did a cracking job. They had a delivery of venison from their butcher. I chose the venison faggots with mash, seasonal veg and red wine gravy and it was superb.
The Wye Valley Butty Bach beer was very good.

 

With this City of Culture malarkey incoming, do we reckon someone might take a punt and open somewhere decent to eat in town?

 

Doubt it, we'll probably end up with a couple of truncated cycle paths on steep hills which'll end up as illegal parking spots

 

I reckon Bradford might just be ready for a Manze's

Could see Bundo and/or Prashad doing summat in the new market.

The one where M&S was on Darley St. There's going to be a big focus on food stalls.
