When do their contracts expire? End of May or end of June?

 

Probably had his best game of all the play offs in the final. In the previous rounds he looked off the pace but Dallas looked a decent striker.

 

Watt, Vernam and Paudie are clearly all off. Time to move on, I think.

 

Their contracts terminate at the end of June.

Sparks has stated that they set deadlines for answers on whether they are staying, and although the new contracts offered are still on the table, a couple of deadlines have passed now. I assume we are now more or less accepting that the trio will not be here next season and we move on.

Sparks did go on to further say that he expects to have everything sorted one way or another within next 2 weeks

 

Within the next 2 weeks - so I'm guessing that means if one or more of them are staying it will be announced before the season ticket deadline, and if they aren't, it won't be confirmed until the deadline has passed.

 

I am actually now thinking , let them go, don't chase them , if they want to leave so be it. All three are replaceable and were part of a team that struggled for the past few years.

Why I asking is because if the contracts are up at the end of June and if they are moving to a new club, the new club won't be able to announce anything without our consent as they are still technically our player.

We'll have to give consent for information to be formally released and we may not want to do that yet while chasing other targets.

So as much as people want information and impatient, they will just have to wait.

 

I've said that all along. People's views have been skewered by the positive end to the season and a lot of people seem to have forgotten that they wanted every single player out of the club just a few short months ago. If any of them stay then of course I'll get behind them but equally, I won't be disappointed if any or all of them leave.

True but also 3 of the better players. Theres probably another 10 I would like to see leave before them 3.

 

Paudie is replaceable, Watt we will receive a small fee but really think we will miss Vernam and his goals. Hard to replace. He would be the biggest loss IMO and the one I would really like to keep.

 

I don't think we are actively chasing them - seems like its a take it or leave it offer and we are planning for life without. All 3 know that it will come to a point in the next week or 2 where the offer will be withdrawn.

I don't really hold anything against all 3 for listening to other offers and taking time to decide - all part and parcel of out of contract players.

 

Yet all three will more than likely be playing at a level higher than us come next season. These are the quality of player that could make a big difference under Mark Hughes tutorship, to dismiss them as simply replaceable, although true, isn't the whole story. As it stands we haven't brought anyone in yet of that calibre to replace them.
