    I think we need to start looking at the rules and regulations!

    Are there any Squad size limits in place?
    League One and League Two clubs will be limited their squad size to 22 players for the 2020/21 season.

    This will be reduced to 21 and 20 in subsequent seasons (2021/22 and 2022/23 season respectively).

    This may well be out of date but until someone comes up with fresh material, I think we have to structure a squad within these limitations!

    The EFL website says players under 21 don't count, neither do goalkeepers.

    As you say it could be out of date, and it is wrong for last season, so I’m presuming it will be wrong for this season coming too. It looks like the plan was either postponed by a year, as 21/22 had same size as 20/21, or cancelled. Plus keepers and under 21 do not count

    Squad size limits was scrapped Jan/Feb 21 at the same time as the salary cap was scrapped.

    I must admit that the Byzantine rules and regulations that the EFL have created, is difficult to follow unless you are working in the area on a regular basis.

    However if you follow the EFL link below then these appear to be the current regulations:-

    43.9 Squad Lists

    43.9.1 Clubs shall be permitted to name up to a maximum number of Players in their Squad List based on the following provisions:

    (a) in respect of Championship Clubs, 25 Players of which a minimum of 8 must be a Home Grown Player; and

    (b) in respect of League One and Two Clubs 22 Players of which a minimum of 8 must be a Home Grown Player.

    43.9.2 The following Players do not need to be included in the Squad List to be eligible to play in League Matches:

    (a) in respect of Championship Clubs, any Under 21 Player (save for any Under 21 Player who is registered with the Club on a Temporary Loan Transfer); and

    (b) in respect of League One Clubs and League Two Clubs:

    (i) any Under 21 Players; and

    (ii) goalkeepers.

    Even if those are the rules for next season, I stand by my belief that even if POC, Vernam, Watt, Hendrie and Wood all re-sign, there will still be at least 5 more signings in addition to them.
