I think it's you who needs to read it again Kev. His dad is merely saying that he would have liked him to stay at Vale, which is completely understandable given how well his son has done there.

I know, but thanks for confirming. It’s when it gets political. That comment is “political” imho. His son goes where his employer says he has to go , irrespective of what his dad wants.

I guess we all interpret things differently. I didn't read it as 'political' at all, just a comment from a proud dad, who despite saying his would have liked Kian to stay at Vale, also accepts Town are the ones making the decisions and know what is best for his son's development.

Ive not seen the Twitter thread but already I hope his dad deletes his account. It will only end in tears as every striker goes through a rough patch and it sounds like pops is very vocal.

I keep hearing/reading this also and personally I hate the thought of any such agreements for any player, but I just couldn't ever imagine MH being told who has to play, even if such agreements had been talked of during discussions If things weren't going to plan I don't think he'd give a fk about any agreements and just do his thing, he's too experienced in the game with contacts to care about possibly falling out with Town.

To add to above I've also read a lot about a recall clause in January where as If he's ripping it up they will recall him for their squad or send him Vale in L1, now seriously that's never gonna happen because If he's doing well here why on earth would they even consider sending him L1 and potentially disrupting the huge progress he'd have had to make to do so well, and regards to recalling him for their squad then that is insanely unlikely as not many if any 19yr olds get loaned out to L2 and then suddenly become good enough for high end Championship, yes granted Town likely wont do as well as the season just gone but they certainly imo are not going to be fighting for survival thus looking for all help they can get.

I can't see Hughes, Gent, or Sparks putting their names to such a deal.

According to Town, Harratt has joined us on loan for the 2022/23 season with the usual recall clause in Jan 2023. That seems clear to me. Town have the option to recall him in Jan if they wish.

Certainly does, no different to any other “season long “ loan .

As it stands, i think Town will be bottom 6 next year as they'll struggle massively for goals (obviously dependent on the summer business).

Feel free to repost this and mock me if I'm wrong
