Good luck today for Bradford's bid to be nominated for City of Culture 2025.

Up against Southampton, Wrexham and Co.Durham

The council will find a way to feck it up.
Hope I'm wrong but they don't have a particularly good track record.
Well done to the bid team though.

I don’t get this kind of thing other than being a waste of money at this time of current financial crisis. I get people need a good time, and the City needing a boost but the cost can’t be justified when a decent percentage of the City are struggling to heat and eat.
I don’t intend to be a spoil sport, just a realist under the current circumstances. No intention to offend!

Tbf Kev, previous winners include Coventry and Hull so from that respect we fit right in.

Hopefully a much needed boost for a city on its arse.

I agree Kev, this city of culture thing is just a load of old bollocks. Still it will give the council bigwigs some photo opportunities

Congrats to those involved. Not sure about the title of city of culture when you consider the likes of Coventry and Hull have one it. Oh and the competition we were up against, is been a dump classed as culture now? Still hopefully it’ll bring some much needed money into the city.

Not really a grammatical error, more in shock that such a corrupt toilet managed to gain national recognition.
I’m now assuming that recent events will be swept under the carpet and the changes that are so desperately needed are not implemented.
This city has absolutely nothing to offer anyone, it’s a disgrace and an embarrassment.

It’s an award given to shitholes to make the people who live in said shitholes feel a little less shit.
