    Happy with that. Good squad player to have with his versatility.

    He tailed off quite a bit after he got Covid, but sure he will be back to 100% for next season

    Useful squad player, although Hughes didn’t seem to play him much. Not sure what the Twitter account were doing milking it like it was some big new signing though, suppose whatever keeps them entertained.

    Seems like he was not really fit/well for a lot of the time since Sparky arrived. From the comments below and the fact he's been re-signed it's pretty clear that Hughes does rate him.

    Not really a surprise. I was on a real downer with him to be honest, but in fairness I hadn’t realised how much Covid affected him. Fair play, a good squad acquisition.

    Surprised he was on the bench if ill/injured. Hughes is currently on holiday a lot of these speeches from ‘him’ seem very similar and generic.

    Yes the majority of it with versatility and energy added on at the end, then again maybe Sparkys taking time out from his hols for such a key player he barely played…

    I have a feeling that a number of the contract extensions were all signed at the end of the season and are being drip fed to maintain interest.

    And yet he specifically mentions Sutton's illness and injury as well as stating that he offers a different threat from many other players in the division. That's the antithesis of a generic statement in my book.

    Sutton is a decent enough squad player who has his uses.

    But I'd like to see some proven quality come through the door next, particularly in the spine of the team. Players like Lewis, Young and East have all got potential but we can't build a whole squad on potential.

    It's good that Hughes sees that Sutton does indeed offer something different. Limited in certain aspects but that energy level and the ability to play various positions makes him an asset. Can't see him being a starter though.

    he missed the start and COVID seemed to hit him hard and he was building back to full fitness and the manager recognises what he brings to the squad
