Yes Park, to avoid injuries and also because Hughes has very much been a squad rotator.

Hey, if it works, it works!

It looks as though he is wearing the new away shirt for his interview.

That's the training kit mate. The away shirt isn't blue.

Released by Swindon after only a year there and never scored a league goal, But lets hope we can get the best out of him and he enjoys his time here, Welcome to the club

I was thinking this. Or maybe hoping this!!!

Get the spine right, create a squad and then see what is left to add the quality. Most important for me is adding a quality winger and a quality striker. One of those ones that can get you 25 goals in a season. They are like Unicorns though - a myth.

If we go into the season with Vernam, Perreira and Eisa as our 3 wingers I will be pretty content mind. As long as we get that elusive striker.

There seems to be a definite plan and type of player which is reassuring though. We will play like this. Let's recruit players to fit into it

We had a big squad last year. It just wasn't good enough. In fact, if anything, I'd want us to have a smaller squad that focuses more on quality.

The big squad was full of bang average loan signings

I'm confident that Hughes contacts will see us bring in a couple of much better loan signings this season.

Think this is the most interesting signing so far, especially so as we've given him a long term deal and it's a key position. It strikes me of when we signed Watt or Billy Knott, who'd both had a scattering of games here and there but needed to find a home.

You'd imagine that Watt will be on his way so Hughes may have said (on the back of a recommendation from Mark Bowen as @Sergio Pinto III@Sergio Pinto III says) its your shirt to lose. The kind of challenge an inexperienced player either rises to or struggles with so let's see.

So with Gilliead/Songo’o we potentially have 3 'poor scoring/assist providing' midfielder/players. In effect based on history, these would not get 10 goals from them, nor 10 assists.

Just where is the firepower coming from?

Played 433 minutes across 16 appearances last season, 7 games with less than 10 minutes on the pitch. In the 5 games vs Barrow, Crawley (x2), Stevenage and Exeter he managed 45 minutes or more, Swindon failed to win any (D2 L3)

Not impressed on this one, especially with limited league knowledge at 23 years old, in a key role.

    Could try coaching them.

Hopefully the days of extremely high player turnover is over.

Strange how people think if you’ve never heard of a player they must be shit.
If every player we tried to sign were household names then they wouldn’t be coming here.
How many people had heard of Hanson, Wells and the trio of Rochdale rejects who didn’t do too badly for us.
Jones, McArdle and Darby in case you were wondering.

Young McCall, Hendrie, Ellis, Goodman, Wells etc turned out okay. I trust the due diligence of Hughes, Hodges, Gent and his contacts than anyone on here.

recruitment to me seems slightly two way. There appears to be agents and players actively pushing themselves towards signing for Bradford as opposed to just us hunting out these players, which bodes very well for any subsequent loan signings

Welcome to the club, never heard of him but hope he does well.

Sounds like he’s a holding midfielder which I’m happy we’ve brought one in early. We have two at the club in Watt and Songo’o and one has played CB since January, forcing Watt to play with wingers like Gilliead and Evans out of position.

If Watt stays we still need two more, when you play a 4231 or 433 you need more holding midfielders than strikers at your club for balance yet we had far less and about 3 journeymen strikers on the bench! This is part of the reason we’ve been so unbalanced, hopefully this lad has been brought in to address that and give much needed competition in the area Watt or no Watt.
