    Very good ball playing centre half. He was in the Blackburn side that won the Premier League 2 championship for the U23’s. The added league experience will have brought him on. He’s strong in the air too.

    Played centre back with Niall Canavan. I’m surprised Canavan didn’t try to put him off signing for us.

    Reading up on him this morning, he sounds very promising. Right sided CB, good in the air, decent with his feet. Barrow fans all seem to compliment his character and he's an old fashioned pro. Seemingly was between us and Bolton according to their fans.

    Canavan had a problem with Adams. Not the players, fans or club. He probably sold it to him if asked.

    Welcome to the club, Matthew. Sounds like the kind of defender we've lacked for a while and one that Hughes believes is a decent passer as well.

    A good two year's experience at this level and young enough to improve and get better. Sounds like a great signing.

    Aye, the gist seems to be that he was a very good player for them, for the most part, and that they'd expected him to move into League 1 at least. Sounds like a good one, and likely a replacement for Paudie

    So far we have signed a Barrow reject, a Forest Green bench warmer, and a goalkeeper who has played no meaningful football in 5 years.

    On paper this looks shite. But then again, we are bottom half League 2 fettle.

    Let's hope Hughes knows what he's doing.
