The front three finishing the season are as good aa anything in the league. If somehow we can keep them together and add a really good finisher we would be set up in that department

Pleased we've got this sorted quickly it's encouraging to see Lee wanting to stay tends to suggest things off field are positive to me. He's a quality Striker at this level, comes across as a decent lad and properly managed could be a massive player for us next season.

Bang bloody right. And those advocating Cook/Angol for example, are setting the bar so low, that failure is likely the outcome.

Are you suggesting Cook, Vernam and Angol with AN other are as good as anything in this league?

Apologies, if I'm misreading your post PB

The FGR forwards are the best in the league.

    Their stats are phenomenal.

23 for Stevens, 19 for Matt.

Those are the kinds of numbers we need to be targeting next season, no matter what the permutations are in terms of who actually gets the goals.

I think he's suggesting Walker, Vernam and Perriera. I might be wrong though

On the eye, we have something there. With a DM holding, yes, some encouragement but the figures in terms of assists, goals... Something is missing, we need a more explosive, expansive line similar to the thinking of @JonButterfield@JonButterfield

Must admit people seem to be getting carried away with angel and vernon as if they were world beaters ;was hoping for better ,but this is city I forgot .Hughes could be just like rest of managers we have had .Good managers but not got anything to work with on the pitch

Hopefully Abo Eisa can be one of those. He scored at one in five for Scunny, from the wing, in a very poor team.

    MKD

    Mo is also crocked

On 16 April 2022, Eisa suffered a serious injury during a 3–2 home defeat to Sheffield Wednesday, which ruled him out for the remainder of the season.[30] During his first season with the club he scored 12 goals in 41 appearances in all competitions.[31]

Probably the player I was most looking forward to seeing last summer, hopefully his injuries were just a one off.

Hopefully so. Unlike Lee Angol, he doesn't have a previous history of recurrent injuries.

Such a small sample but Bradford v Scunthorpe exemplified these two players, within the squad.

Naturally a positive vibe to the Sutton result but its a rarity in this season.

45 games have provided many clues. Vernam and Angol maybe part of the jigsaw but so many other parts to solve as well

Certainly. What you'd hope is that Angol, Vernam and Walker will be parts of a squad full of similar standard players, rather than being head and shoulders above many of them.

    Evening sir.

Walker is above the standard I would expect of our level. The eye is telling. This kid has much to offer.

That said of the 3, are they a combined ability, application and skills et. Yes, I think we are close.

    Good post
