Well so far if Cook, Lavery and Delfouneso were trialists, I'd be saying thanks lads, but no thanks.
Poor pass from Evans set Brentford on the attack, 'keeper made a good stop but a follow up header into an empty net.

 

They will all have been in Manchester for the Utd game yesterday anyhow I would suspect.

 

Surprised Hendrie isn't even on the bench for this one. Suggests either way, Hughes has already made his mind up about him.

 

Keeper a bit on the small side..

 

None of the Brentford lads have impressed me much except that Gareth Evans lad, he’s been their most dangerous player when on the ball…

 

Now now.....

 

Have yet to see in any game they have played what Lavery and Delfouneso offer to the team.
All 3 had little half chances in that first half and not one hit the target.

 

I wouldn't be surprised to see Cook being made available at the end of the season.

 

I don’t think he’s Sparkys cup of tea, as soon as Angol was fit enough to start he’s been dropped. He’s not mobile enough for what we want or need imo, a useful option in the squad but it wouldn’t surprise me if the finances could be put to better use.

 

He's not the sort of player that fits into Hughes style of play. Doesn't have the skillset to play that mobile link man that can run the channels.

 

Keeper

it's Atherton, on the zoom in no long back towards the goal it looks a lot like him from his Warrington profile photo. Hemming is way taller than this bloke and has a bit of a stubble beard.

 

Seems logical what’s happening here.

Seems like all those in our squad today are playing for their contracts / future at the club.

The obvious names left out are either on their way out or have been given assurances regarding their future ie Vernam.

 

I would imagine all the outfield players are in the shop window and have been told not been retained or the ones under contract next season that they are free to find another club

 

If that's the case....none have stood out enough to be offered a new deal....IMO of course.

 

Dont think many have looked interested in this friendly. Cook & Cooke looked cack. Levi Sutton again doing Levi Sutton things, plenty of energy... not a great deal of ability. Lavery, was there too.
