Match Thread Hartlepool United (A) 15 March 2022

Unfortunatly we have an element of fans who don't care about fellow fans.

 

Not forgetting singling out of individual players.

 

It's years since I went to Hartlepool but they have always had a reputation for being a bad lot.

 

Hope you and your lads were OK, sad these scenes seem to be happening more and more

 

Not been for years, but I reckon every time I have been, bricks was always their choice of 'weapon'

I once remember police riding on our coach away from the ground until the coach reached the outskirts of town, and the coach was still bricked.

Every trip to the North East always seemed to attract trouble, even Brandon when we played them at Spennymoor

 

To be fair there is not a lot else to do in Hartlepool

It’s quite comical watching the ‘youth’ being prats amongst themselves, but when it spills over to violence and / or involves other people (I hope it wasn’t a steward who copped for it in the ground but believe it was) then it becomes very unpleasant.
Looked as tho the police had it all well filmed so hopefully they act upon it.

 

Spennymoor anyone?

 

Baaaaaaaad away trip that was……….On Patsy buses.

 

Middlesbrough was the same in the nearly season, yet I've not had that problem at Newcastle the 3 times we've been.

 

Remember it well, didn't they have a one eyed centre forward, City fans took the rip out of him, 'there's only one Billy one eye'

 

I actually drove to that match at Spennymoor as a teenager. Glad to get back to car and out of that horrible hole in one piece!

Menacing atmosphere all afternoon

 

Newcastle is the only ground I've not visited in the North East actually.

Done all the old grounds at Middlesbrough and Sunderland etc, and all dodgy to visit in those days.

Can't remember any problems at Darlington actually

 

Don't think there was a time I went to Roker Park where there wasn't an issue. Found that place & their fans ,a nasty little place in the 80's.

 

I have been to Newcastle a couple of times watching the match from the Gods, no problems.

 

Roker Park was the first place I had kids asking me for a quid to look after my car.

 

I am not in any way knocking last nights performance, it was massively encouraging. But it did at times remind me of some of Stuarts teams with Nicky Law and others playing neat little triangles up to the opposition box.....and then ending up back just outside our box. Still enjoyed very minute though

 

MH mentioned it in his after game interview. So hopefully he has a solution.

 

Bad memories of a week up there taking a match at pools I was working round the north east shops took the wife and kids to stay at Whitley bay. It rained all week I had raging toothache I picked up my only driving ticket after being pulled over for driving without care and attention and we lost the match great week
