Give the lads a shout for me, can't make the Vale game.

 

A good win, and another performance that builds on what Hughes is trying to shape. The spirit looks better too - more willingness to do the ugly stuff, as well as trying to play better football.

With a better squad in the summer, next season could actually be a successful one.

 

It's amazing how much people can recover self belief when you stop telling them they are crap.

I'm sure Morecambe weren't in the bottom four when Adams went back.

Think we can breathe easy now 15 points between Oldham and us.
16 if you count goal difference.

 

Great performance still more to come with this squad especially with Vernam coming back. Do still think Andy Cook is a liability at times. Tough game this Saturday, Port Vale just thumped Mansfield who looked excellent against us.

 

4 more points is the traditional safety net, don’t think we were ever at risk of going down tbh.

 

I mentioned in an earlier post that the Hughes press conference was full of quiet praise for players, all positive, none of this throwing them under a bus crap.

 

Not his fault.

He's hampered by mysterious behind the scenes reasons that he couldn't possibly expand on.

 

It's League 2. In the 15 or so seasons I've seen us down here, I can more or less count the great footie matches on two hands and the clubs playing 'mouth watering pass on move' footie, who got promoted on one hand.

McCall had us playing entertainly in 2008/9. We failed. The pragmatic, Wycombe and Brentford got promoted that season.

One of the problems we've had in the last few seasons, is actually fan expectation. L2 is largely always shite - it's a bit daft to think that there won't be a lot of shite games. It's the price we pay for been daft enough to get relegated in the first place!!

 

well done to the lads tonight, i would have taken a point away at a team that have lost two games at home all season.
The players are showing the commitment and fight that we all expected. Mark and his team have certainly managed to sprinkle some glitter on the turd. I can not wait to see what he can do with his own players.

 

Well done to Hughes, Hodges and the players for another away victory.

Great to see back to back wins and successive clean sheets for a much maligned defence of late.

This is a different planet altogether from the dirge served up under Adams.

Be interesting to see who Hughes looks to retain from the current squad now.

Head of recruitment appointment imminent I believe, be interesting to see who that will be

 

I think an outstanding centre forward and outstanding centre half would be largely all it takes to get us out of this division. Cook is a good player but is also very limited at times

 

I don't think this league does outstanding…as soon as there is a really good player in this league they’re off.

 

It's actually nice to go to bed with a smile on your face for a change after watching City ...isn't it?

Ok, look at the run Foulds makes from his own half to put us 1-0 up. Fantastic, nothing else to say, just fantastic.

 

I think most of our squad cut could it at L1 level to be honest. The league 2 part of our play is decision making in the final third and movement.
