Apparently he’s a set-piece coach, hope that’s both offensively and defensively as the number we have conceded of the latter recently is frightening!

 

What’s a secondary assistant manager…….assistant to the assistant?

Looks like he’s seeing out his contract?

 

Hopefully it means he's got no input into anything regarding team selection and tactics.

Great appointment and he knows the lower leagues well.

Things are slowly beginning to look a bit better than they did 72 hours ago.

Long way to go but hearing GH and MH today they seem to understand how to get the best out of the players.

Possibly, but for now lets acknowledge that Hughes is openly saying he is really pleased to have MT about

 

And sensible too. There's himself, Glyn who knows the lower leagues and Mark who knows the players and the club. A good combination.

 

Completely agree. And I think Trueman has potential too.

I just hope we support Hughes properly. Not open chequebook style, but pushing the boat a little, to actually grow this club and get it moving forwards again.

 

Don't be getting giddy. Keep your feet on the ground we are being told.

 

I hope we keep him on board in some capacity, he's clearly got ability as a coach. Even if he goes back to being a link coach to work specifically with under 19s/23s that break into the first team, I think that could be a really important role if we want to see those young players who are currently spanking everyone in the u19s league make that step up and do it for the first team. could also be hughes wants his input for his knowledge of our academy teams as well as the first team

 

He’s had his chance for me Nath.

 

Not heard him say that in the two interviews I listened to Si. I heard him say he will be “close to the first team squad” ? Is there another interview?
