He'll certainly have links to prem clubs too. Not sure what he'd know about players at this level, but it could be a route to better quality loan players, or released academy players.

Well I never expected this and what a name for league two. I mean that’s all I know so far but he has had a lot of experience at the top of the game.
Was obviously keen to get back into management as he applied for the job as per the article. Feels a bit like Rupp has got this one over the line more than sparks or is that me?

Anywya we can’t predict really but I do know if he can get the place going he could be a hero here and mayeb that’s the appeal. Plus at his age of 58 a few years as manager, build a side and playing style then move upstairs as director of football? Who knows but we probably needed an experienced man who can look at the whole club not just on the pitch. He could come in overhaul the whole club is Sparks let’s him? He’s been at Man City and Southampton two very well run clubs. Stoke.and obviously managed a national team so knows what it takes at the top. I hope he can replicate that here.

It sounds like he’s got Rupp to spend some money.

He didn't have any odds, he was never on any bookies lists. Proper left-field appointment this one

    No, not at all.

I would have picked Fowler or Woodgate but Hughes is fine.

The Man Utd or Liverpool thing doesn’t matter when it comes to managing us.

I would think he won’t be cheap only managed higher up with good contacts I would say it was ambitious. Of course ambition doesn’t always lead to success

This is very clever by Rupp & Sparks. Mark Hughes has a wealth of footballing contacts in his book. Hes managed under Saudi billionaires for one so if it Sparks interest in Bradord City by potential investors ? Now thats clever. Invest in Hughes and what he reflects on the club and it only improves Rupp chances of getting his money back. Going to be a sell out Saturday. !

He won’t be coming here for div 2 football and will make it clear things need to improve off the field.

Key for all fans is to get behind this appointment, no guarantees in football but no one can deny this is not slightly more ambitious than we were expecting.
Give MH a real chance to build something at our club and you never know

Anyone who is out of contract with any love of the game at a lower level will be saying to their agent. Have a word with Bradford I might fancy that for a year or two. I would. It's Mark Hughes!!

Maybe investors wanted Hughes to be hired. Ever thought of that?

I reckon we've only done this to p1$$ off Adams after he said "If they are going to get a new manager in, they are not going to get a manager as successful as myself".

    That's the main thing.

He will see through the lack of expertise at the club straight away.

He might not be able to replace Sparks right away, but as long as he takes over absolutely everything then it could mark a slight improvement.

Of course we still have no players and no defence, so I hope people aren't expecting miracles.

No manager is winning with Songo'o in defence and Robinson up front.

I take it you are being sarcastic. His record in getting clubs like Blackburn & Stoke to even stay in the PL is outstanding.
