My hunch is he’ll go for an attacking set up with 2 up top and give the large travelling crowd what they want to get us on side, especially given the opposition and also as a statement that the Derek era is done with.

 

I'd like to see Songo'O back in midfield. He's done a decent job at the back but he seems all over the place, diving into tackles. Maybe Trueman could try a 3-5-2 set up, but I doubt he'd be that adventurous.

 

That attacking line up is depressing.

Delfounso offers less than Robinson and Gillead offers either less than that or a tiny bit more depending on if he's interested in attacking or not.

I get we've not many options but is this really what we've come to?

 

Not a fan of Derek Adams 'sign players with something to prove' (ie, haven't performed in years if at all) philosophy?

There is not a single attribute that Elliot has that is anywhere near as good as Cooks.

Actually, he's probably quicker than Cook when thinking about it but being a terrible footballer that doesn't really count for much. Just ask Dylan Connelly.

Hope you're right about Vernam, General, but Yorkshire Post today saying Vernam, Walker, Ridehalgh, Threlkeld, Eisa and Angol all out with possibly Lavery and Evans in starting contention. Trueman also quoted as saying a number of players were disappointed at the departure of DA which if true gives a lie to the 'lost the dressing room' story. We shall see come 4.50.

There's a lot of boys who got brought in very, very recently by Adams who must now be thinking they made a mistake. Presumably they came in for a promotion push, which would have been great for the loanees.

Can't imagine players like Threlkeld or Songo'o are delighted, either.

And how do they square it with themselves? "Well, the manager is sacked, so we must have underperformed... but we're 12th in the table...? We didn't do that badly...?"
