Video Editing Help

    I'm very new to this and I'm struggling with "Any Video Converter"
    Does anyone know of a simple free piece of software that I could use to do this :

    -Load in a long, High Quality (Massive File Size) MP4
    -Cut the video into a short clip
    -Convert and save this as an AVI file and specify maximum file size (eg 5MB) at the highest quality possible automatically.

    VLC media player allows you to clip and save segments...free to download..
    Whilst video is playing click on red button in left hand bottom corner to start and stop where you want, clip will be saved in your video folder...

    Limited.....very limited, If time allows it helps when transferring old home VHS to DVD then on to a USB stick, cutting out the crap..(majority)..!!

    Can you enhance the quality when you change from VHS to DVD, like upscaling ?.

    So my home movies in B&W cant be upscaled to add colour and sound :(.
