@Bronco, Well, if an Associate Director had already held a meeting with Stefan, I can't see why it would be necessary for John to follow at his own expense. What could John have added to the contribution of someone so closely associated with City?

Conversely, if an Associate Director had a meeting with Rupp, only because John had already visited Munich and alerted Stefan to the situation, that doesn't reflect too well.

Unless, I've missed something, I'm at a loss why it was down to a supporter, either alerting, or collaborating the situation.

 

Sorry I wasn't having a go, maybe not worded correctly, but why are fans accusing the club of falsifying attendances when they are basically quoting tickets bought or being bought and paid for monthly, that was my point @WilsdenBantam

 

The crowds at football games are described as "attendance". "Attendance" is defined as "being present at place or event" so, strictly speaking, clubs should only report people though turnstiles. Of course, we all know they include season ticket holders, whether present or not.

 

I understand it was after John had met Stefan, as you point out an Associate Director would be far more aware of the situation on a day to day basis where as John might have been discussing the financial debacle Edin was getting the club into.

 

If that's the case, I still don't think it reflects well that it took a supporter to set the ball rolling, and at his own expense as well!!

 

No worries mate and I didn’t think you were, it’s just a heated thread so all replies feel a bit sharp at the moment. All clubs do it I believe, my boss is a Sunderland season ticket holder and he said they always do it, have for about 10 years or so. I believe it’s for tax purposes, but it’s a worrying trend for next season for a club. I don’t believe any club would do it to hide anything though.

 

Can't argue with that, although I think a lot of people just simply saw a man who had achieved promotion at every team he'd been at.

I can't remember correctly, but wasn't Adams already quite strongly linked with us when that poll was set? If so, perhaps folk were looking for the positives in the likeliest appointment? Nowt wrong with that, frankly. Could be wrong though.

 

I'd suggest a club like Bradford City with 90/95% of their attendance made up from season ticket holders is far more accurate than the likes of Oldham, Rochdale etc, who take most of the attendance revenue from paying fans on the day.

Just for you @Park bantam my thoughts on boycotts, not once did I mention today or this season. Season ticket sales are a far bigger indicator to fan unrest than a few iFollow passes.
