The main issue do you actually trust this manager to bring them 17 players in ????
He’s had 2 transfer windows and tbh it’s been pretty poor so I ain’t got any confidence that he’s gonna get it right in the summer

Agreed. Threlkeld, Songo'o, Gilliead and Kelleher don't fill you with any confidence.

 

He has brought in gash so far - I don’t trust him at all in any further recruitment. Therefore, next season would just be as bad as this if he brings in players of the quality/calibre as those he has brought in so far.

 

It’s the strikers that don’t fill me with Confidence I mean you don’t mind the odd non scoring forward but he’s brought in 4 I seriously would give him the next 3 games if we ain’t pulling up no trees and not winning then he’s got to go ............. why mess about n the summer when the foundations should be set in place now ????
If Rupp ain’t gonna well then at least take away the footballing side away from Sparks he’s done an amazing job on the commercial side but the footballing side needs a man with connections in the game ............ somebody who knows the game in and out and knows how to support the manager .......

 

That’s the scary thing he gets a full summer brings in more tripe gets sacked and some poor sod will need to sort his mess out again

 

Maybe our wires were crossed. I agree that past records do mean something, it’s just the actual win % stat for managers that I don’t give much value to.

I suppose Paul Jewell in the Prem wouldn’t have a high win % yet, in keeping us up, he did a better job than any other manager we’ve had in living memory.

 

So basically going back to how we were run 5 months ago talk about egg on face, Ryan not you.

 

I’d argue he has supported the manager and left him to build his own squad. He can then say to Adams he’s given him everything he’s asked for and he’s not delivered. The only thing Sparks has got wrong at the moment is backing the wrong horse. A horse most pundits said was a good bet at the beginning of the season, hence being one of the favourites to go up.

 

The worrying thing for me is a few people on Twitter Facebook and even on here suggesting we bring back Stuart

 

Turnbull wasn’t a DOF he was head of recruitment. Adams is an old school manager who likes to control the football side of the club and until now has been successful. So the only person to blame for what is happening at the moment is Adams

 

He's in his second dream job assistant manager to Paul Heckingbottom at to Bramhall Lane, he'd be silly to contemplate a return to Valley Parade, certainly under this regime.

 

Sparks shouldn't have let it happen. A DOF/Head of Recruitment is employed by the club and independent of the Manager.
Recruitment by committee, with the Manager having the final say would give us some continuity.

The recruitment process should have been all ironed out before Adams joined.

 

Fake news. I haven't seen a single post on here suggesting that and on twitter, the couple I've seen have clearly been taking the p!ss.

But he's not managing us in the premiership. He's managing at a level that is broadly equivalent to his previous positions and so we should give credence to that win % in this situation.

 

His title is irrelevant Head of Football Recruitment DOF chief scout, he was the one with control over who we recruited until something changed when Adams came.
Not sure I've said otherwise for me the only doubt might be with regards our summer recruitment were all the players brought in with Adams blessing.

If he admits his mistakes (unlike DA) I think he’ll gain respect rather than lose it.

 

Easy to say in hindsight he followed a model that has brought success elsewhere
