If he is on gardening leave that means not doing any work for the club but unable to take employment elsewhere, so that doesn’t sit with acting as a consultant. A consultant is someone employed on an adhoc basis rather than as an employee.

Care to hazard a guess as to the motives of your source in setting up the sponsorship and then using you as a puppet to release it?

You clearly don't understand a "Puppet on a string do you ?" And I'm not being insulting by saying that, you've clearly stated on this thread that you are being given information from within the club and "there's nothing wrong with that".

I would say there is something wrong with you posting information given to you by the person within the club, it's a breach of confidentiality, unless they have given you permission to post it ? In which case it is their breach of confidentiality and it doesn't matter if they are an employee or an Ambassador they shouldn't be doing it.

So either you grow some balls and name them, or they grow some balls and post as themselves.

 

At what point do we move forward? Asking the local journalists to take up the story will achieve what exactly?

I might not like some of the things being done, but I wouldn’t go all out to disrupt the preparations for next season by “telling tales”. Until somebody comes up with an offer they can’t refuse, we have to do things their way whether we like it or not.

 

A group who have sponsored Guiseley previously with this fixture asked to sponsor again.

Initially they wanted one name as sponsors, then Naughty Boys Table and then our Commercial Manager was asked to change it to the James Mason Appreciation Society.

He rang me and said why they want that I don’t know, he is an old fashioned film star!

I said maybe the one you know is but I know James Mason and he has recently left Bradford City and I think this is someone being mischievous here, I don’t think it is a good idea.

I have known James since he was a teenager and he was my work experience boy at one time on the local newspaper.

We decided we didn’t want someone’s idea of a joke to spoil our relationship with City so it will not be going down as The James Mason Appreciation Society.

James has been made aware of this.

It was our decision to reject this, not City’s.

How do the supporters know wo was sponsoring a Guiseley game anyway, we have not made it public.

 

Not read all the posts but was interested by the references to Club Ambassador.

Do they still pay an annual fee for the title, a bit like the new membership packages but on a grander scale? If one of them is behind this and are doing it to stir up trouble for the owners why don’t they stop paying for the title until the owners leave?
