Has anyone seen Michael Collin’s interview on Bantams Player after training today? I have to say I do like the way he comes across.

Nope, but nor am I interested in how someone 'comes across'.

There are an infinite number of management styles, there isn't a 'right' one, and personal preference really needs to be overlooked when selecting someone for success.

That's the major worry with Rahic; he can't overlook his own personal prejudice. He has his plan, he thinks it might work, but the implementation is going to be crucial.

Anyway, time will tell - Collins is neither a success or failure at this point, he is the cleanest of clean slates - attempting to judge him is silly, even if it smacks of far too much, far too soon (ie, Hockaday).

Talking well is nothing given the duties he now has; man management, squad management, tactical understanding, decision-making, ability to react well under stress, the list is endless; that's why so very few make it as managers long-term.

The whole "oh, we chatted this weekend so I appointed him after failing to appoint anyone else" statement wasn't helpful from Rahic, and that's probably why he's expected to fail; but really, succeeding is so unlikely given that football management might be the most difficult job in the world, with extremely few exceptions.

That was a pretty comprehensive reply to a straightforward query Jon.

We couldn't get too near the players to see much as they were on the middle area, if they are on the front pitch (which looks in great nick) you are closer to the players and whats going on.

Edin has taken something from Having Grayson here. The new surface for the training pitch. A full time analyst. And possibly a new fitness regime.

Thank heavens for even small signs of improvement. I understand Rahic also recycled the old drainage system from VP under the new training pitch to save a few quid! ;)

To be fair the main pitch near the roadside gets a full re-seed every year, or it has for the last 3/4 years, also got redone when it was flooded t'other year.

The training pitches are treated every year, Park, and have been for the last five or six years to my knowledge, at the cost of BCFC then maintained by Woodhouse Grove.

No, heavy scarifying then top dressed. If you watch the process the top dress sinks through and grass re-appears within days.

I know this is off-topic but how is the VP field looking? Not seen anything recently. Wondering how it looks compared to last season at this time when there were, even then, clear areas for concern.
