Did anyone back the draw today? 5/2 today. Xmas is getting cheaper and cheaper

 

In recent weeks i think you’re probably right as we’ve missed Cook and Vernam, and the latter is our main pace option.

Not looked at our xG match timelines lately to put numbers on it though as just sick of our incompetence at the moment.

 

Gotta be honest the more I see his sides and the more I listen to him, the less I trust him to spend a decent budget well.

 

You are right last 5 or so games our clear cut chances created have gone down, suppose you’d always expect it at some points during a season because if a team were clinical which some are and created good chances every game there would be teams in every league getting 100+ points so I’d expect dry spells in creativity. Is it coincidence that Cooke hasn’t played much or started during this time? Probably not.
But faithful is still right we have been so poor in so many games earlier in the season when we have created enough, sadly a decrease in chances isn’t going to make us more clinical.

 

Whether individually we rate Cooke or not, he has created a lot of our chances and is high up the table for chances created across the league.

It seems odd to leave out a player that is having such an impact unless there is a disciplinary problem we don't know about or perhaps if the team was winning without him (which clearly they aren't!)

In terms of earlier chances I just think all our forwards apart from Cook perhaps were either out of shape or not match fit. None have played consistently over say the last 10/15 games of last season apart from Cook.

 

I think this is a very good observation. We don't create many clear cut chances. Who knows how Robinson, Lavery, Cook or Angel would perform if they were give genuine chances to convert. I've seen very few for a long time.

 

Listening to Adams after the game today I get the feeling that he'd be in his element at a club where drawing 2-2 at home with Sutton is seen as an achievement, we are not that club.

 

The set pieces were a positive today much improved

 

Hanson, mcardle would’ve had a field day with some of those set pieces, crying out to be attacked or at the least anticipated

 

Its frightening to think of the quality we had in that squad compared to this. Would a single player from this side get into Parky’s promotion winning side. I don’t think so.

 

There was a fight between Cooke and Rowe in training which resulted in Rowe leaving.

I hope Cooke’s behaviour isn’t causing more problems.

 

Did you hear Adams’ interview today? He mentioned trouble causers and moving them on. I did wonder who he meant…….

True. Canavan arguably cost us more. Agree if that was ROD then the outcry would be greater.
The difference is ROD has had nearly half a season of opportunities Hornby has not. Hornby deserves a run of games. If he isn’t up to it we will find out and as Adams talked about in his interview if they aren’t good enough will he moved on.
