Sorry - I disagree, in part. In particular the match against Burnley. Law tried hard, but Dieng had the touch and movement of Bambi, for the best part, constantly mistiming any jumps for headers.. I observed and stated this at the time to @Bronco . That cost City in midfield, on that day.
I was hopeful the lad was just suffering nerves, but he never really kicked on, IMO. However, to balance things up - a few of the squad failed to hit their heights, particularly last campaign.

Yes I can just imagine it now, an opposition central defender being nutmegged............ by both the Fordy player and the ball running direct between his legs to score.

 

I never said he's a major loss, but you've got to wonder about the terms we're offering these players we seemingly want to keep hold of.

 

Looks like he might be Scunthorpe bound.

Very worrying times in terms of experience levels.

Plenty of experience if you include McGowan there is also Wright and OCConnor new and plenty of experience from last year and probably more to come

 

Hope there is more to come, because even by the standard of experienced players, Tony Mc was extremely canny.

Add to him the loss of Dieng, Law, Doyle, Warnock, Lund, Gilliead, and Taylor and we're really struggling to name an experienced XI.

I don't think McGowan, Kilgallon, Wright, Vince and Wyke is exactly 'plenty'.

 

OCConnor. Chicksen and Reeves and Poleon also have plenty of experience

 

Very average. He was so inconsistent, not even game to game but 10 minute spells he’d win a flurry of tackles and then give the ball away each time.
Wouldn’t have been unhappy if he stayed as a squad player but not bothered he’s going. Important we get some quality in though.

 

I have to say, your standards appear to be appallingly low.

Two or three injuries, and competition for places essentially mean two or three of those are guaranteed non-starters.

Even by your standards, Park, your denial is intense. You'd struggle to find any sane pundit who would describe our as squad as having 'plenty of experience'. We quite clearly don't.

We should be aiming higher than the Diengs of this world. Ok squad member, nothing more.

 

There is plenty of experience and why are you writing off the young players if your good enough your old enough and hopefully youthful exuberance will come through

There is ample experience in the squad with a couple more 'older' additions

I'm not writing off the youngsters, but I do have my doubts. Who knows, they may give us the edge we need.

However you'd have to be demented to think we have enough experience. We don't, we need to add plenty more. At least four more senior players by my view. Preferably six or seven.

I understand people like @Sergio Pinto III saying "calm down it's only June 26", what I don't understand is the "relax we have plenty of experience" sentiment. We really, really don't.

why is my opinion that important to you? you clearly don't agree with what I say, so why not just ignore it?

 

Squad player.. we can do better.
