Possession stats mean nothing. They are just a percentage of passes your team made, successful or not, against the total passes made. Pass the ball between the keeper and right back nine times out of a ten pass sequence and you have 90% possession.

 

His middle name is Bruce and he has a good "Range" of passing.

 

Their wingbacks are both very good players and their most creative outlets too. I'd be wary of playing a back five again and leaving them 1v1 vs Threlkeld and Foulds who aren't great.

Revert to a back four with Vernam back in for sure.

I think you are mostly right Ulysses but surely the need to take into account the time in possession a players takes too. By their explanation then, if a player took the ball and dribbled aimlessly for the full 90 mins, possession stats would be zero for both teams?

 

Either way it's meaningless. Mourinho's teams often have low possession even when winning trophies.
