    Are we fit enough?

    Cooke
    Gilliad
    Vernam

I think having so much possession especially the first half and only the one goal to show leaves you open to the counter second half, he accepted that did Adams we were so much on top that late in the game tiredness did creep in.
I'm not sure any of your above 3 mentioned cost us, the last goal was poor defending from a player who had done little wrong through out the game.

I think if we were fitter then Cooke would have had the energy to get onto Cooks pass and possibly got us in a position to get the 3rd goal we needed, however the lack of fitness after that caused us to sit back a bit and hand the initiative to Bristol.
wasnt suggesting the 3 players were responsible but they were the ones who looked most fatigued
The question is are we fit enough?

You’re missing the main culprit Cook from that list, but yes I agree all 4 were blowing out of their backsides.

Unsurprising seeing as they had been told to do a high press from the start of the game and they must have covered miles today.

You would have thought that DA would have anticipated this and had some tactical changes in mind to protect our lead.

We had one sub left, how you getting all 4 off? We should have taken our chances whilst on top.

To be fair, you would expect the team defending against that press to tire out quicker than us.
It’s tougher without the ball than it is with it.
It’s perfectly reasonable to question our fitness and stamina!

Vernham/Gillead off and Canavan on to go 5-4-1 to protect the lead as best we could instead of capitulating like we did.

Fair points but when have we questioned fitness or stamina in other recent games? Cannot immediately recall any comments on this aspect.

No, you’re right - I don’t think that it’s a recurring issue. We did look burned out though today.

Fair comment could have, wouldn’t have stopped the ball constantly coming back though and if we concede bringing a defender on does that make Adams look better or worse? Who’d be a manager…

It boils down to lack of quality imo, fitness was an issue today but wouldn’t have needed to be if we’d been better in attack.

Don’t think your brain is understanding that the squad lacks quality.

We should have been 2-3 nil up at half time but no! Go in 1 goal up.

It’s not fitness that’s the problem. The problem is we are sh&te.

Didn't Adams say they are back in tomorrow? Surely, a day off would be more beneficial?

Also, it sounded like he was glossing over the fact that Eisa had broken down in training. Unless I heard it wrong.

What we need is high-quality consistent players who make few mistakes. The type that play in the Premier. So problem solved. We just need to sign some Premier League players. Oh. Hang on a minute. We're in League 2.

    Absolutely
I have said before 7 days a week training/game is too much the players need to relax and unwind (get the hunger back)
Who on here works 7 days a week, week in week out and can still give it there all
Yes that's what he did at Morecambe (fed up of hearing about his past am more interested what he is doing now) but injuries and lack of match fitness can't be overlooked
As for Eisa I think he was politely saying he didn't want to talk about him for whatever reason

I can't see how we can be called out with regards fitness, Adams has them in 6 days a week, but you do have to have concerns with regards xG, as fans we could see at least 3 (the ones you've quoted) were on their last legs, do we have to wait until they drop before we put fresh legs on.
As fans we can offer suggestions what we'd have done, would a fresh Canavan done better late into the game when Scales came on double sub with the aerial threat of Pitman, as it looked their only threat crosses into the box.
Bet Adams cant wait for Angol to be fit and then the January transfer window to open.

I've more or less just made the same comment on the match thread, @Bantamsteve@Bantamsteve.

Totally agree maybe I'm making a mountain out of a mole hill but his comment with regards Eisa sounded like "another fine mess you've got me into Mr Turnbull".
