Been a couple of times theyve broke through with one ball and got into 2v2 positions.

 

Their pitch has certainly improved

 

50/50 first half I reckon. Both teams had a couple of half-chances.

We can take this with an extra 5-10% in the second half.

A quality striker would thrive here, and would make such a difference.

 

entertaining game so far, living a bit dangerous at times but matching them for the most part. cook and gilliead both poor for me, cook needs to be gambling on those balls in the box more and gilliead needs to actually have a shot or he'll stay on one goal all season.

i think cook is a quality striker but he's a quality L2 striker so isn't gonna be at the races every week. we're crying out for another forward to take some of the pressure off him.

They need to start preventing crosses, Newport are having far too much joy down the flanks, particularly on Ridehalgh's side. They'll pick someone out in the box and score in the second half if they don't sort it out.

I think I missed all our good attacking play haha looked mostly one way for the short spell I watched

Kiwomya is right. We need to mix it up when we get near and in the box. It’s too predictable and easy to defend the cut back, a couple of snap shots wouldn’t go amiss. For all the getting into decent areas I don’t recall their keeper making a save.
