My reply to that would not be appropriate or PC, so I will refrain

Couldn't we, as fans, get that given the history. It would help in future pricing if the land could only be ever used for sport

I wonder what the exit clause is in the lease. On a lot of business leases it is the premises have to be returned in the same state as at the start.

We only rent the stands and land it sits on, The seats, Floodlights, turnstile and interior fittings belong to the club

The only way I can see a change to the current situation is an owner who can pressurise the FLPF into negotiating a buy back of VP. Someone with enough money to say that they'll purchase VP for a reasonable amount or they'll build a new ground or play elsewhere (both probably unlikely). That seems like something that many of us won't see in our lifetimes. So, I think the present rent is one expense that the club will have to meet for the conceivable future. Unless something like the club losing its football league status occurs.

If the metal was copper and lead , the pension fund would have kicked us out years ago.

I think the supporters groups looked into a few years ago, but did not follow up on it.

I think the stipulations only mean it has to be offered first for it. No takers it can then be sold on

It would cost a lot more to demo than the scraps worth... its mainly concrete

If it was an old mill then yeh there would be a bidding war but a mainly concrete structure is a different story

If we were in the Unibond league there would be some on here insisting we stay at VP paying 500k in rent.

Why are we talking about the stadium. We have a lease until 2028 so we won’t be moving anytime soon. The option to extend is 25 years and unless something drastically changes between now and 2028 we will be in there for 30 plus years.

If it was an.old mill the Yorkshire Dale's National Park would have had it away with the stone years ago to pave the way up the Three Peaks.

probably because if we are thinking of moving then plans need to start now. Plus if we just take the option to extend it is on the same increasing rent but starting at current value which would probably mean paying over £1m at some point. Those figures are not sustainable long term

if the club will be paying approx 500k a year on rent surely they have to look at getting a morgage and trying to buy the ground back, if they can get a lender it has to work out cheaper than paying 10k a week on rent

That's assuming Gordon Gibb/pension fund are prepared to sell, and I very much doubt he's in a rush to lose a great deal for the pension fund.

Problem is if as people keep claiming the land is worthless they would not take it as security so the owner would have to offer some sort of guarantee,
