Much better they did miss a couple of sitters but good to see Gillead get stuck in today and get a goal. Thought Sutton offered more mobility in the middle of the pitch and the run for the pen was fantastic definately mom for me. Thought songo did well enough at CB and ridehalgh ans Vernham look to have picked up where they left off Evans has got some work to do to get the shirt back because Sutton should keep it for me!

Assist for the first goal and won the penalty but yeah, he was useless apart from that : unamused:

You’ve read that wrong. Im saying the reason he was subbed was because he was MOM and ran himself ragged, not so he could milk applause

Just wanted a photo with him!

sutton and songoo both excellent today. The three attacking players also had good games IMO and Paudie got stuck in well.

Enjoyable game today except for the first 20 of the second half, both teams wasteful but that’s league 2 for you. Sutton MOTM for me shame he can’t pass though, ball boys got a good workout. Hopefully we can kick on from here and win next weekend.

Summed the game up. We took 2 chances they didn't. Like nearly every game in league 2 there is nothing between the sides, just got to take more chances than the opposition.

We looked good first half although with not much end product. Second half we stood off them and invited pressure. Rochdale couldn’t finish their dinner and missed 3 sitters at least.
I thought Sutton was excellent. The best player on the pitch by a country mile. No idea how Watt got man of that match. He continually gave the ball away and I’d have subbed him. Cooke was the same and was poor for me today.
Songo’o did very well as a makeshift CB IMO. He made some very important blocks in the first half and didn’t stop all game. Paudie didn’t stop talking to him all game which was great to see.
The 3 points is all that matters and we are another week closer to getting players back from injury.

    One other thing.

Well done to Adams today. Some tweaks that worked.

He is our greatest asset at City and potentially the answer to arresting our year on year decline.

I’ve been saying for weeks Sutton should be starting for all the reasons his performance today was about. Far and away MOTM today by an absolute miles. In fact, even last week at Crawley it was his run forward which eventually lead to the ball getting to Crankshaw for the cut back. Sutton offers that over anyone else in the squad and it was exactly what we needed today.

That said, I’d be furious as a Rochdale fan how they’ve left without even scoring. Lady Luck was on our side today - we were much much better than recent weeks and manager and players need the credit for that, however we can definitely improve on that performance still.

All that said - very happy to finally get a win back on the board.

In fairness, Watt was decent today. Cooke looked all little off today. Potentially his poorest game of the season

Robinson was unfortunate with his late effort just couldn't put enough curl on it but fair do's to Adams Robinson for Vernam who put a shift in then Evans for Sutton made sense the kid had run his backside off, good game management.

    Big gaps everywhere.
Loads of parking spaces on Gracechurch street when it’s normally full both sides.
