    Breaking news on Look North - he has resigned as chairman of 'Welcome to Yorkshire' and "has plans to return to football".

    Could he be coming back, and if so, under what capacity..

    Execs often go in with a specific brief and limited life span. Mate of mine ran a large very well known company with the aim of getting it ready for a sale, he was always only going to be there two or three years. I think Mason went in to turn it around after some bad results under the previous boss.

    They stuck every single chip they had on some stupid cycle race that benefits no-one apart from coffee shops in Richmond and the like but clogs the roads for days. Total waste of space organisation that should be disbanded.

    Hardly clogs all the roads all day. It’s not like TdF with a road closed from the morning, apart from the finish line it’s usually rolling road closures for 20 minutes in a massive county.

    Main Street in Cross Hills was shut for two hours when it came through. It's not just the race its the number of cyclists it encourages. Sack it off. Sack them off. The reason they have no money is they put it all into this and are now in breach of contract for cancelling next year. Why have they cancelled ? Becaus ethe councils dont want them clogging up the street.

    69% of the UK population NEVER cycles, 83% cycles less than once a month and 96% less than daily. Yet Welcome to Yorkshire want to promote God Own County as the home of UK cycling. Talk about sticking your money on the wrong horse
