Awful defending AGAIN..

 

Agree ROD rooted to his line again. All he has to so is step forwards and punch the ball or even catch it.

Lots moaning about our strikers but god awful defending has cost us 4 points in the last 2 games alone.

 

And yet only ROD gets the boot in your reply. Disingenuous?

 

You can blame this and blame that but the fact is we lost to a 90th minute goal,it happens.
Perhaps MOM King just might have been the main reason we lost, he was outstanding between the sticks yesterday.
One of our attempts on goal beats him and it's a different ball game.
My only beef like many have commented on would be to see City play with two upfront but at this moment in time I can't see that happening in which case I expect Cook to burn himself out and become sluggish and frustrated.
He needs support and he's not getting it.

 

I said it was god awful defending read that how you want.
We need to be sharper when defending. Walsall virtually walked the ball in and Salford had a free tap in in the 6 yard box. Both goals were gifts whichever way you look at it.

I agree poor defending but the problems run deeper than the keeper...

Has Cook played the lone striker role elsewhere? Has he scored his goals in partnership?

 

That's my concern for Cook as well. All the pressure is on him to score every game which imo, makes it more likely he won't score in any of them.

This time last season we had a league game on the Tuesday to get back on track. This week to week program is frustrating because we want to get the last defeat out of our system as quickly as possible, rather than dwelling on it.

Unless he opts for a second striker I fear this will be repeated over and over again. To do that he has to change formation and drop one of Evans, Gilliead, or Vernham.

 

Gilliead would be the one for me. Yes he can carry the ball well, but he is creating absolutely nothing with it at the moment.

 

If Robinson became the second striker he needs to concentrate for longer than 2 minutes.
