I think at the end of day it bodes down to the fact that these players are in league two for a reason, they’re inconsistent and we have to set our expectations accordingly.

 

It should benefit them long term. Rest days and easy days are as much a part of fitness as the go hard or go home sessions.

 

Inconsistency by it's very nature doesn't usually affect a whole team at the same time though, but yesterday everyone seemed to be off it. I wonder if there is a bit of uncertainty in the camp around what will happen in the next couple of days, and if that had an impact on yesterday's performance?

 

Exactly! That's why I'm a bit confused as to why it is being put forward as the reason we were off the boil yesterday.

 

Possibly so but again wouldn’t that be the same for the other team ? There was apparently a busy up between Wood and Jackett in the mid part of the week.

 

A couple of days lighter training sessions didn't cause yesterday's reverse. Football life doesn't work like that.

What did he say? Strange if true given his professional career is likely over. The guy and his brother were strange, they got a weird vendetta against Gillingham as well for fans criticising him. Seems like a pampered ego who can’t stand the truth that he’s not very good.

Just watched the highlights again on Quest and ROD is going down rather than standing tall, as I posted poor defending before the lad got his shot away but IMO ROB at his near post has got to get something on the shot.

 

ROD is going to cost us lots of points, always get's beaten at the near post, flaps and fails to catch the ball and has introduced thumping into his game, and not good thumping. Adams is doing great but i think he is playing the wrong keeper.

 

Looks a great goal from the original angle, doesn't the look the best for O'Donnell on this one.

2nd goal would probably be worse too if it was on this camera angle

 

I don't think O'Donnell was expecting the shot with it being so close to the goal line. The second one he has to do better although Canavan has a hand in both goals with poor defending.

 

Thought it had gone in the near post watching it live yesterday but it’s gone over him. He Stands up and it smacks him in the face. Shouldn’t get a shot away from there but sorry it wasn’t van basten. ROD should save it. As for the second it was a decent shot but not thumped in from outside the area. Disappointed he didn’t save that too. TBF ROD wasn’t the reason we lost. We were poor all over and particularly in midfield where we were poor in possession and lost most of the midfield battle. Outfought and out thought. Felt for Cook. Balls leathered from deep to his head up against two big lads who were very physical. Those who think we don’t miss Angol give your head a wobble. The ball sticks when played up to Angol. We desperately missed that yesterday. His ability to take the ball in the move and link with Cooke in particular. He is a big miss although his finishing is suspect.

 

Looks like there is going to be an investigation regarding crowd trouble after their second goal.
