Unfortunately Chris had a drink and drugs problem too. He often frequented nightclubs in Bradford with the other loanee from Falkirk (forgotten his name now) during his time here, and I personally know he was taking illegal party drugs whilst out, and would be at after-parties well into the following day. Clearly had a lot going on in his head.

I don't think Stewart was on loan was he? We're talking a decade ago now though so I could be wrong.

That's a very sad story. I had heard the rumours about having some personal issues but not on that scale.

It's good that his dad had the strength to write about him in this way. Hopefully it might help another family who may have similar issues

That's right. In the days of Archie, we thought we had recruited a future star on a free. Unfortunately Archie got his facts wrong and Falkirk were due a development fee for Stewart's time at Falkirk. We disagreed and Falkirk took us to a tribunal which we disputed and the case finished up at CAS! We lost the case and finished up paying Falkirk around £200k for Mark Stewart on a free.

Sad story. I actually saw him playing for Clyde at Elgin in the 4th tier in Scotland. Must have been one of his last few games. You just don't know what people are going through at all.

Horrible story. Unless you’ve seen those close to you go through issues like this it seems so difficult to understand.

the human brain is so dangerous. Nothing suprises me that people do anymore. People can be good at hiding things for so long.

sorry tale, his family must have been utterly devastated.

Sad story. I remember Chris playing for City, I thought he was alright. He didn’t have much pace, but his passing was excellent.

I remember the game against Barnet particularly well (3 assists in a 4-2 win), and also his one goal for City against Rotherham, an excellent header.

When Parkinson came in he never really took to him and he only made the bench a few times after the Rotherham game, and never got on the pitch after that.
