I know Cook will get the plaudits and rightly so it was a 10 out of 10 CF performance but that is the Charles Vernham I hoped we'd signed his best performance for us by a country mile he was class. Hope he can maintain that level of performance if he can we have some player for this level.

 

I expected us to win tonight.

If we serious about going up then you have to be beating the likes of Stevenage.

Best we have played for a while and great result.

Unbelievable performance tonight - we looked like we was going to score every time we went forward!

Not only were we technically quality, but it was great to see we never took our foot off the gas either - fought for every ball until the final whistle! Fitness levels looked great.

Cook was amazing, but special mention to Vernam. I love the way he just drives at people, he'll cause every single right back in this league problems - can either cut inside on his right or take people on and cross on his left. Such an exciting player - as was Crankshaw when he came on! (Great assist for the Canavan goal)

All in all, one of the best performances I can remember at Valley Parade in a very, very long time.

Just had a look at a Stevenage forum. Their posters were pretty generous in their opinions, no complaints whatsoever from them.

 

10 games.

6 games left the judgement time.

 

Fantastic performance, some great goals and good football. Cook and Vernam unplayable and the best players on the pitch by a mile. We just look like a side full of confidence and purpose every time we go forwards and its so refreshing to see.

Also so pleased to see we've stopped being that side who sit on 1-0 leads.

 

The best all round league performance I've seen for years.

Who said DA was dour and would be bringing us boring football

First class entertainment from first to last minute.

Cook's performance was superb, the best centre forward display from a City player for a long time.

Vernam was excellent, unplayable in that first half.

Every man though played his part tonight.

Great to see ex City ball boy Niall Canavan score in front of the kop.

Hope Angol was only cramp and not hamstring. Eisa is out for a month with hamstring injury

 

Bit of a shock result that, considering our main striker is so poor and we were playing the powerhouse that is Stevenage Borough. Mind you I'm not complaining, I'll take a lucky win any day of the week.

Reminiscent of the old City we all fell in love with. Tonight, I saw certain attributes from City players that I haven’t seen for many-a-year.

I thought Vernam was fantastic. His attacking play is something I haven’t seen since Marshall. What can I say about Cook that hasn’t already been said? It’s amazing just how mobile he is for a big lad - we’re very lucky to have him at this level.

Loved that FCD cruncher in the first half. The crowd gasped and got the lad booked. Their winger was never in the game.
