No. "Going down a different route" suggests to me that the new headcoach wants to go down the route of youth, hence his decision not to accept the contract knowing that he wouldn't be first choice. It's all conjecture of course but he's suggesting that the club have changed something which has made him depart, in which case I think the onus is rightly on the club.

 

How long do you leave it before retracting a contact offer ? It's been 5 weeks, Doyle might still be on holiday for another week, they are given a month to accept or negotiate which protects both the player and the club for a short period, players move all the time as does life.

If his agent had done his job this wouldn’t have arisen. If the club were not willing to negotiate he should have moved on. Not wait till this time. Having said that personally speaking I would have offered him a little more

Dieng, Peters, Hudson and another youth player were all offered contracts by the club at the exact same time that Doyle was offered his. If time is the issue, I'm presuming their departures are also going to be announced later today?

 

How do you know he was looking around for better offers? Maybe he just wanted a better offer from City. I may be reading too much into but from the tone of his message I think he was expecting to stay.

 

New Head Coach has obviously chosen George Sykes-Kenworthy as his number 1 because he's seen him play more often than Doyle.

 

So his offer expired a week ago and we've phoned him up and said sorry Colin, we've decided to look elsewhere, thank you and all the best.

Not sure what more we are supposed to do, holidays or not.
