Give over. Fordy is, erm Fordy.

Love him or hate him. Erratic or stubborn, he offers a lot of noise but he has habit of speaking sense amongst his posts.

From his earlier post... He is probably right that we are short 2 or 3. And ultimately, that the results of pre season mean nothing.

Now I'm not advocating all that Fordy writes but this place would be bloody boring without some of his negative overtures. It's tempered by those whom are overly positive.

Thankfully, their is a good amount of people whom are somewhere more centre ground.

 

The problem is Dave( and Fordy) is ALWAYS EASY for any team on this planet to say we are 2-3 short.
It’s about realism…three top end L1 players would be fantastic, but we have to realistic, we might not get what we want right?

 

How is we need to go for automatic spots at least being negative. I just don't take these games seriously.

Look, no excuses next season for not going up and you will agree with that being Mr Positive.

City are currently like a decent hotel or restaurant. They need cover for the Cook(e)s is they want to uphold their standards over a busy season.

I think 2 players would be good to get, obviously another CF and also a CM. We need rid of Evans who I think is a poor Jack of all trades master of non and replace him with a proper CM who will challenge Sutton and Watt for a start. If Scales went out on loan say we’d also need another AM, can’t afford to not have cover for Cooke again. Think we’ll still do a bit more business yet, but baring 1 player we’ll need an outgoing or two to make it happen.

Promotion is won over a full season and between now and May, every squad in the division will change. We are much stronger than we were this time last year(even without Guthrie) and it is obvious we are in a position to be even stronger after January for the final Feb to May push.

 

Adams gave a glowing reference today. 'Outstanding performance'. But of course he doesn't care. Its all about who looks tired and nothing else.

 

Agree on last season but are we stronger than the season before, when ultimately we were failing before the season was curtailed?
Different team/manager in both scenarios but ultimately you win or lose as a unit together.

I know full well

 

in my 45 + years watching city, this has to be the best prepared we have been at the start of the season.
Squad just about done, maybe the odd tweak in and out.
Pre-season results very good and playing reasonable football and a manager that appears to know what he is doing.
