I’m still waiting for all these players that have previously played under Adams to come flocking, has the bus from Morecambe broke down or something?!

 

By definition we had him when he signed a contract, the fact he didn’t says we never “had him”.?

 

Threlkeld a done deal I believe, I can’t understand why they haven't announced it.

 

Adams said we are waiting to do medicals before formerly announcing. Might be a back log because of Covid. I dunno.

Threlkeld and Songo'o are my guesses for the 2 unannounced men. I wouldn't bank on Adams sticking to this "we need 8 more" thing from a week or two back, probably more a loose statement than something to bank on. He's still not seen the whole squad train, might have one plan in mind and think there are some missing pieces after some weeks of training or a few pre-season games.

 

He seems adamant to me that we will be getting 4 more and have a squad of 24.

 

Problem is that we still need both fullbacks, probably 2 midfielders and definitely two more strikers.

I get that one of the strikers might be a young loan signing but the other 5 definitely need to be "first team ready".

I'm not even sure we've too many left we could offload to make room.

 

Adams gave a clue in his first interview when asked about players at Morecambe when he said it depended what they Morecambe wanted to do. They obviously gave him a good contract and like it or not at the moment they are better and higher than us.

 

That makes no sense at all.

So we didn't have him then. If we had he we would have signed the contract.

He might have been thinking about leaving Morecambe but didn't. Bradford City never had him.

 

I think he wants 8 permanent signings based on his interview. Then he will explore the loan market.

It makes sense. Maybe Stockton agreed in principle to the terms offered. Then u-turned at the last minute.

I think you are taking the term 'had him' to literally. Club probably thought they had him but a last minute change of heart saw him stay at Morecombe. Sounds believable to me.

 

Probably dripping them out over the days rather than all at once, we all know how impatient we can get!

 

Not sure if you’ve listened to Adams on BBC radio leeds from yesterday yet but he is how I want Sparks to be. Gives nothing away and is very sound speaking about players and the club. Positive but not an excited child.

Look, Morecombe are crap. Lost their manager and other players have decided to leave.

Great achievement last season but they will come straight back down.

Stockton isn't even that good and we are only talking about him because of our new manager otherwise we wouldn't be bothering. If we did offer him a contract I doubt it would be that he would be our number 1 forward.

 

I for one don’t think Adams will let Jamie press him like McCall did and folded like a deck of cards. He will be stern and is clearly very set on what he wants and needs

 

We have Canavan, Paudie, Staunton, Foulds, Sikora and Cousin-Dawson at CB though... it might be, given the limit on squad numbers, he sees other positions as more important
