If Doyle comes in as a part time 3rd choice on £500 a week then fine.

Even without the fact that in no way, shape or form can anyone make the judgement that Doyle is better than ROD or even Huffer due to his lack of football, why on earth would we want a bloke that is pretty much retired now just because he "lives the club"? We had that last year with the likes of Billy Clarke.

What we need to do is a to sign a keeper that's better than the two we have who, despite the nonsense I've read, are very much of a similar standard. Failing that, either starting is completely fine with me and both are very much better options than bringing back a semi retired Colin Doyle.

 

Yeah, I liked what I saw of Hosannah. But biggest problems is not sure he will fit with our likely playing style, and of course, him actually remaining fit.

 

Pre season starts one on Monday 28th. Lets hope we have 5 or 6 stellar signings that will make the difference. So we have only signed people who were here last year .... a poor year and who may bring that psychology with them!

 

Agree to a point. But preference has to be Hornby.

Anyway, Hornby signing, this week or whenever, will mean highly unlikely there will be another GK coming in.

It doesn’t work like that. Players are released so it’s bye,bye, players you want to keep we must agree new or extended contracts. You sign them up before anyone else does!

Exactly, that last paragraph is the truth, neither Hornby or ROD are good enough for a promotion chaser. Would need at least one to go and try tempt a cracking number 1 in the door. With the registration rules this year, it would be a little daft to have 3 slots taken up by GKs.

Most likely then maybe a signing Friday evening. Unless Hornby isn’t staying then maybe two signings this week, I imagine they’ll be something every week day for the next few weeks even if it’s relatively minor news.

 

He was that good when he was here, but still wouldn't necessarily go for him

 

I think we crocked him in fairness, overplaying him then rushing him back too soon.
