    If I was his dad I’d be encouraging him to stay at City where he just has to dislodge O’Donnell. At Leeds he has to dislodge a French international. If he’s good enough he will make it to the top whatever route he takes. As a City fan like yourself Kevin aren’t you a little disappointed that we never get to see our top young prospects.

    The lad is 16 now ain't he? It's not inconceivable he could be on the first team bench at 17. GSK wasn't much holder when he first made the subs list

    At Leeds he doesn't have to dislodge a French international any time soon, he's going to benefit from top dedicated youth coaching and play in 'Premier League 2' reserve team football (IIRC, Leeds got promoted to the top division of that too) with the option for loan spells as a reserve or number 1 if/when the club feel he's ready for it. If he progresses, he'll likely get some opportunities with their team in a couple of years. Oh, and he'll have a decent contract with more money.

    I'm very disappointed, but it's the nature of football at this level (because of the FA, Football League and Premier League). If we want to avoid it, I'm afraid the only way is to support the growth and rise of the club. And, like it or not, getting a sum for the kid we can spend now, as well as potential windfall in future tied into appearances or transfers, is the best we can get out of the situation.

    Better coaching will obviously be a benefit but PL2 football won't as the quality is shocking. Used to be decent but the changes made supposedly to help get young players into first teams actually have done the reverse. With only 3 overage players allowed it doesn't challenge the u23's to really improve, especially the physical side. And teams don't even play the allowed overage players these days as it provides little benefit for the senior players. Shame he isn't maybe a little closer to starting games because an ideal situation for Leeds would be to sign him but loan him back but have him in training at Leeds multiple times a week as players out on loan sometimes do when the club they are on loan to is close enough to the parent club
