Folk are pining for Andy Cook who scored 11 in 41 last season. Sneering at them too???

 

Not sure we will sign Cook as have heard we have signed Cole Stockton from Morecambe unless we fancy both

 

If PB had his way we would have a 576 strong squad and win the league by virtue of everyone being on our books and the other 23 teams only being able to field juniors.

Wilson has gone to Port Vale. Port Vale will finish well below us in the league. Lets move on. Now if we were talking about signing/ losing out on signing Ian Henderson from Salford on a 12 month contract (IF Adams wanted him) it would be a different matter.

I couldn't give a stuff who we don't sign, who people on here think we should sign and who we "allegedly" miss out on. Just that that we do sign and as things stand I trust Adams to use his judgement better than the armchair judgement of the masses. Is Guthrie even still a footballer ? I thought he now had a job at Maccie D's

 

Hilarious we had two best strikers the last two seasons and made them look bab,

oh and Ogrady who was half decent after us. Adams will get whoever.... to work by giving them service and a very robust midfield and defence

I'd love it if we did all our business but kept it quite and then unveiled 7/8 new players in one go like Houllier did at Liverpool a few years back.

 

Also 8 in 21 for us and he seemed to get hacked of by T&S tactics. He’d realistically be a 15-20 leading the line for us

 

That seems to be Chelsea’s method, they had over 30 out on loan last season.

 

And again, many of his appearances for us were from the bench due to the stupid rotation between him and Rowe.

 

No one is pining …. A good addition yes.

 

I think if T&S hadn't been so defensive in the last seven games then Cook would have hit at many more for us last season. He just needed some support instead of being so damn isolated. I would have him back in a heartbeat and think now we have removed T&S the chances of that have probably increased massively, unless Adams sees his wages as being too much when he could get cheaper and use the rest elsewhere.

The stats I can see show Cook started only 53% of games he was in the match day squad for in 20/21 and played in only 51% of available minutes. My maths means that he scored approx 1 goal for every 180 minutes played and that's pretty damn good.

 

James Wilson played on the wing or in a number 10 role at times. With a lot off the bench too.

Im not upset over Wilson, wouldnt have minded either way. But to disregard his season as just 9 in 29 while bigging up Cook is bizarre at best.

 

Simple Sergio. Cook is a hard working tough barsteward. Wilson is an ex Man Utd handbag mincer. A bit like Joe Riley.

 

I wish we would declare a signing just to stop the talk about someone Vale have signed. Hope they don't sign someone really good, this thread will go into meltdown.

Not sure if they still are going for him, but a few weeks back in their paper it sounded like Scunny were trying to sort out a deal for Muldoon. He's from there and 32 now, might fancy a move back for his last few seasons.

 

Possibly Grimsby are set to sign striker McAtee from Scunthorpe United so they will be in the market for a forward.
Hunter signing would demand a fee.
