Forget the "woke" stuff. If Evans turned VP into a fortress and got promotion I'd be happy. You get the impression some people would only be happy if the lead singer of Erasure was in the dug out. Evans is no different than most of the blokes you'd meet in town after a few pints.

Check his history of misconduct and fraudulent activities going back to his days at Boston, his shocking behaviour at Valkey Parade when manager of Crawley, and as I keep saying, he has had no success since promotion from league 2 in 2013.

A few years back maybe, but he's had no actual success for 7 years or so now, and he hasn't even over-achieved in his last few jobs in that time. His time has passed.

 

Our record on hiring Scottish managers is pretty dire, Think the last one that did well was Mulhall, Hope the next one is better if the rumors are true

 

Tbh I think it's an interesting debate. Would Evans get us up and would fans be happy with his appointment. It's an interesting thing for McAnthony to post and he usually posts stuff that have a decent debate to them.

Let's play Devils advocate.... Several on here were saying "a win is a win" or "we were playing poor but at least winning" so I guess they'd all be in favour of Evans then unless some of them have got a moral standpoint?

Having said that, I'm not in favour of Evans coming! Debate is interesting tho.

Evans lasted less than a year under McAnthony, so hardly a ringing endorsement.

McAnthony urged Sparks to make T&S permanent, again, that didn't go well and lasted about 4 months.

He's odious man, a proven cheat (Boston), and a misogynist and he only succeeds when people throw money at him, unlike Adams & Parky who have built teams out of nothing. Good manager or not, I want to at least warm to my manager and have some respect for him and I couldn't/ do that with him even if he won us the Champions League.

I'm pretty sure I'm not alone in this, but I'd rather forgo success than have him anywhere near my club.
