What the f**j is Crankshaw doing there? We've been more open and a bit more threatening than normal, but any defensive issues we've had are not down to shape, they're down to our players being defensively shite

The previous formation meant we were defensive overall. These players haven’t got the ability to play more open.

 

Weve been better with the ball, but we're awful defensively. Whatever the shape, this squad needs a LOT of work in the summer

Theres a reason Trueman tried to keep it tight. It was the defensive effort that brought the points. Your point is bang on.

I’m not watching today but they need better than both O’C’s as first choice if promotion is the aim

 

Don't be fooled. The problem here isn't the system. The system has actually helped us be better with the ball and we haven't been over run. We're losing because the individuals in that system can't defend well. They make silly errors, they're positional, they don't win their individual battles, they don't get blocks and tackles in. Thats nothing to do with the system.
