Sparks has to decide if they can take us up! It's not about if they can manage or keep us up now.

Sparks has to do best by the club to achieve its aims which is to get out of this rubbish division and improve off the pitch.

 

When A'OC gets the ball you can boil the kettle before he makes a move.......

 

And then look at how the teams that beat us do in the games after. Crawley beat and Harrogate shafted. We really are a piss poor league 2 side.

 

We're the perfect side to play against. Score the first goal and we're done.

 

Its the same set of players. So yes.

 

I suppose it was inevitable that T & S would implode at some point. Does the fact it’s happened before the end of the season give us an unexpected opportunity to start next season afresh with a new manager? We are seeing signs of discord in the camp with Rowe. Are we seeing another Vaughan scenario? Sparks must feel a little embarrassed that his numerous tweets about Rowe being the saviour now look a little foolish. When you look at the strikers we’ve had over the last few seasons, it’s criminal how we’ve not got the best out of any of them bar Cook and possibly Novak.

On the flip side, Parky had a system and brought players in to make that system work. If they do stay Turnbull has to find the best players available to make 4-2-3-1 work, as Bolton have. Big decision needed because season ticket sales depend on it.

 

I hope Sparks has given them a rocket.

They are making him look stupid. Who was the last CEO who employed unknowns from within the club as management? Sparks is an ambitious guy and doesn’t want anyone blotting his copy book. He’s got to find answers about the current team form, the tactics they are using, why they don’t play Rowe and why they are persevering with Billy Clarke. Sparks would have also have been listening to that after match interview with white knuckles. Let’s see if Sellars takes the reigns on Saturday (explaining why Guthrie was allowed to score a hat trick).

One thing we’ve seen from Sparks is that he’s not afraid to be ruthless. I really hope he does give them both barrels this morning if he hasn’t already done so.

 

And make a brew, sit down, then drink the thing.

 

As for Rowe. How the hell does Evans play at 10 before him???

 

The interview. Jeez, where do you start?

"We were getting 5, 6, 7 bodies in the box". (I must have missed those moments)

"We brought Clayton on late on" (there's late on and then there's late on)

Answering the all-important Rowe question: "That's why we kept Cook on" (so basically confirming a point blank refusal to even consider using an additional striker - the question wasn't "why didn't you replace Cook with Rowe" FFS)

And to think I gave them credit for replacing Clarke but even that turns out it was due to an injury.

Oh, nearly forgot: the keeper change was nothing to do with ROD's form, it was because Hornby was more suited to playing against Tranmere.

Even changing Clarke at half time was because he had an injury, I suspect they'd have left him on.

 

He is definitely a good interviewer Jamie, asks the questions fans would want to ask, rather than bland interviews from the Thornton boys in the past.

 

As I wrote earlier, I really hope Sparks has a strong word with him about that interview. Car crash as someone called it. Seeing as Ryan is a comms guy, he should send Trueman on a course on how to handle the media. He can use last nights interview as what not to do. Cringeworthy.

 

Cringeworthy but very instructive. I learned all I need to know about T&S in those nine minutes.

As I posted in another thread I am also inclined to give them this summer to build there own team - but hard not to be worried about MTs totally nonplussed attitude in last nights interview and the fact that for 3 successive games we have been the 'soft touch' for teams to break their own winless runs.
I cant fathom a lot of what has gone on in the past few weeks, we had such an opportunity and it has all died like a damp squib. So many things that it is difficult to know what to say - tactics, ambition, Rowe, Jan signings lack of impact etc etc - just makes me think something else is perhaps going on behind the scenes

 

Would be a worry if next season we find ourselves again within reach and then 'mysteriously' take our foot off the gas...!!

 

I said that weeks ago. Got shot down in flames but it was clear to me something was not right.
