Head Coach rumours

Would anyone be on a 12month contract, surely any employer wouldn't be happy with someone working in their company who wasnt 100% behind the companies visio, but you may be correct.

 

Tell you what, it's easier to suss out an Agatha Christie whodunit than name our incoming head coach

 

Was told last night Darren ferguson will be announced as our new coach on Monday. We wait and see if this comes true.

 

When they appointed Martin they said Sam (and others) would remain in place until a new head coach joins. At least they've been consistent on that stance.

Six months is fairly common for key personnel.

Looks like I never made "key personnel" , a month in my case.

 

What has been interesting on here is how spectacular wrong or non existent our normal leaks from the boardroom have been. Even now, with us so close to naming him, we still don’t know for certain @How makes a very strong case for Fergie, as does @jackah but we still don’t know for certain. Normally we know before the bells and klaxon starts ringing.

Maybe as @Storck says we have found our professional mojo. Now we just have to find our lost connection with the fans.

 

No changing employment contracts. I was on 1 month in advance, I know for certain in my profession it is now six months and sometimes a year. I have been retired 3 years.

 

Is that “lost connection” as you call it partly due to the club being more professional though and not telling everyone what is going on before it’s done as Lawn did on many occasions

 

I thought the type of head coach we wanted was 'unusual in league 1'? Sorry but if traditional manager ferguson gets it, it screams panic and desperation.

 

He also said he comes with a good pedigree which I took to mean his dad. (Doesn't mean I'm right but that's how I read it).

 

P.s regarding the above i dont think it would be appropiate or professional to play out peoples certain situations or positions etc on social media before any thing 100% concrete iw or as been decided.

No I don’t think so. Being more professional doesn’t mean you cut yourself off from your fans and supporters especially when you need them. In some ways it is a nebulous concept, but you can have the right pathways set up. I have already posted, that having good communication with your fans is essential if you want to run a successful business. That means embracing social media, yes be aware of the negatives, try and negate them but do not cut off altogether. This requires open communication on how recruitment is going both for players and managers. It requires being open about the business side of running a football club. Yes explaining to fans where we are investing in the future. Saying openly if we are planning for more investment in the structure of the club, which may mean we have to borrow money to make sure we have enough money for the 1st team.

 

Thoughts on Ferguson: He's not the worst case scenario such as Rahic appointing himself as coach, or the second worst case scenario which would be appointing a complete nobody, and he's certainly no Hannes Wolf either. Given the anomosity towards him everytime his name was mentioned, I was quite surprised to find out that he has 3 promotions on his record. Point is, if Rahic and Abbott genuinely believe that they are giving him the players to succeed, he knows how to get the job done as has a track record to prove it. A decent appointment for me if we sign him. He achieved more at Peterborough than Mccan did, who our fans seemingly would have been happy with.
