trevor really agree about Scales and Watt - the latter had a new resolve to him today. Great goal and maybe being dropped gave him a wake up call.

 

It was a pretty simple "assist". To be honest I'm slightly embarrassed calling it an assist. It was a pass!

He should have played Scales in as well but kicked the ball like a 6 year old.

Anyway, a good win. We've played better and scored less. Weird game football!

 

so, what are the ratings for the players today? Hopefully Donaldson and Scales put in performances similar to last week as well.

This league is NO different to what it is every year it’s the lowest level in the football league. Today’s match was slightly better than the usually find at this level forest green for all their gamesmanship tried to play football and when we high pressed we looked good.
Most matches at this level are slug it out affairs and it’s the team that comes out on top most times get the success. We have played better than today and not won at Newport for instance

Feels like there are more surprising results this year though. More teams losing to lower teams. Today was a more extreme example but there'll be more surprises over the coming weeks I reckon.

It's good were playing teams around us in the coming weeks. It will be a good barometer of progress.

For me, another tick for T&S - what happens when we lose? We bounced back. Poor run of results? Now two wins in a row. Well done T&S. Keep at it.

 

Poor in spells, really good in spells, overall worth the win.

Our learning and improvement curve needs to embrace the fact that we're a much better side when we're on the front foot, pressing higher and not sitting off.

 

There are some on here who have suggested that Cook's overweight. Well I hope he's enjoying his cod and chips tonight after scoring two really well taken goals, plus hitting the crossbar with that audacious lob. Seven goals for us so far.
