Similar to our wins a few weeks ago. Deserved it, but unconvincing.

Not today, the old head did exactly what was expected of the guy, a free week now to get some players fit and a bit more confidence in the squad.

 

I said before the match (in a first world selfish way) that it was quite sad because I'd have hopped in the car today and had a good chat with @CT Bantam or someone else today. Bloody pandemic. Anyway, we'll all catch up again soon (I hope)

Makes you wonder how a 37 year old can play the whole game but apparently Cook and Rowe aren't able to.

 

Was weird, i finshed work about 2, got home and the buzz wasn't there. Had the game on but kept flicking over to the coverage of the bellends 'protesting' in Bradford.

 

Even Andy K saying he hoped his goal keeper would have come for their goal.

 

To be honest we looked better without Crankshaw and Vernam who do not offer much apart from Crankshaw gives the odd cross, We looked better with our own youth players and an old head or two

 

Donaldson never lets us down no matter what is said about him his ball control and passing are very good of course his age is now against him but used sparingly he is still a good player

Our best player today by a country mile.
He looks so much better deep than as a target man. His strength, close control, ability to turn out of a tight spot and pick a pass were exactly what we've been lacking going forward since Cooke got injured.

 

Hoping Clarke and possibly Cook will be available, Callum saying on the forum he thinks mid April, if he wants to play would it be a big risk, and of course Vernam & Crankshaw fit.

Good result but a patchy performance. Colchester were generally terrible but still managed to create 3 or 4 good chances which we were fortunate they missed. Pleased for scales, hopefully he gets a run of games now. Donaldson MOTM and looked like he hadn't played in months (in a good way).

Still concerned about how we drop off after going ahead. Whether its an inability or an unwillingness to build on leads, its got to change because its been a big problem under T&S and today better teams would've punished us.
