Wonder if Lee Turnbull could find us an OOC midfield general to strengthen our weak midfield.. ?

I suspect he already has three names lined up for either L2 or L1 status.

Ah yes I agree but where do you get a fit and match ready unattached player and is it even allowed once the transfer window closes?

You can sign any amount of unattached players outside the window, but yes they would have had to have kept themselves fit..

How many seasons is it now where we have had key players out injured for lengthy spells? We have Novak, Pritchard, Cooke all who are likely starting 11-maybe not Pritchard but we are definitely affected by Cookes absence.

I am anticipating bad news for Cooke as he is seeing a specialist tomorrow-never good when you have to see a specialist.

Ball retention yesterday was virtually nil across midfield and that is what was our ultimate downfall in the first half. Carlisle pressed high and if we had been able to pass around them we would have had numerous counter attacks with Vernam and Crankshaw having more space to run into. I suspect that was the plan by T&S but we failed to execute it. Instead they had plenty of the ball and took every opportunity to launch it into the box and ultimately scored. That second goal looked dodgy at the time and even more dodgy viewing it again today. Whilst Hornby's position wasn't great he was bundled into the goal along with the ball. Surely that is a foul and Evans in second half was fouled and they got a drop ball.

Add that to Cook's miss, Evans dilly dally and Crankshaws poor touch when one on one and we still created plenty of chances.

Probably had an injection but that’s all he told me, ‘he’s got back pain’ I just presumed he could have been a doubt.

    You sound like Stuart
Other clubs have found and are finding them
We desperately need a midfield general this season

I think we may be at squad size capacity so wouldn't be able to bring any out of contract player in.

Add to your list of injured players Zeli Ismail. According to one website he is on a salary of £2,000 a week, just under the combined rate of Sutton and Pritchard! The trouble is that in addition to the salary, he also will count as a senior player in the reduced squad size.

@Bigrod@Bigrod I had considered Ismail but I was referring to key players who would get in the first 11. I have not seen enough of Ismail yet to form a proper opinion of him as he has been injured for, what seems an eternity.

Aye your probably right, but at least for once we got the win and are starting to look like the team we were around Xmas/New Year. It would have been interesting if we hadn't had all those postponements, because now we have to play 2 games a week until the end of the season, if we play like we did yesterday then I'm sure we'll surprise a few people, but sooner or later the amount of games will catch up with us.
I have to say I was surprised at just how much we dominated the midfield, as most of you were saying Callum Guy was immense for us and thankfully getting back to his best. I also thought the Watt was disappointing, infact I also thought the same when we played you at Valley Parade, we were gutted when he left us, but out of those games I've seen I would pick Guy everytime. Some were saying the wind made a hell of a difference, but it was the same for both sides, and as a matter of interest it didn't drop at all at half time ( I live fairly close to Brunton Park) if anything it was even more swirly, its just that it stopped raining.
Anyway best of luck for the rest of the season (unless the very unlikely scenario we meet in the play offs)
    From the proper North.

Mate don't get too giddy you are an average team that bullied us all over the park. As bad as we played we could have won...... Oh and I really disliked your commentators very poor apart from that good luck

I was merely trying to be nice, I'm certainly NOT giddy, if you had seen the game against Grimsby only a few short days ago, then anything less than a 0-3 home defeat would have been acceptable.
As far as the commentators were concerned, they have had lots of praise from away fans over the course of the season. And maybe they were a little giddy, but considering what we've had to put up with over the last couple of months then its hardly surprising.
I take it you haven't played at Harrogate yet? Now if you want to hear some terrible, almost disguised racist comments then you need to listen to those two Muppets who commentates for them.

Thats cool mate. We like nice on here.
The good thing about this season for us is that we won't go down. Its been a very bumpy 2 half years

Why is it unlikely we will meet in the play offs? You ain't going top 3 on yesterdays performance. Too open at the back. If we had had our shooting boots on you would not have won yesterday.

No you wont go down, you have to many decent players, maybe it was a bit of an off day and maybe just maybe your team took us too lightly, which would have been unsurprising considering the way we've played over the previous 8 games.
    Best of luck.
