I think that once the new bloke is confirmed as manager an announcement about the "leavers" will be made.

 

Hang on a minute, this is a club who had the the best part of 20k fans in league 1, a club who have been progressing for the last 5 season's, a club that beat premiership opposition, a club that went to Wembley, twice, a league 1 club in a league cup final, a promotion winning team with players we believed in, then a club sold to new owners with the financial clout to take us forward. But now we are being asked to buy into a system where the managers position is redundant, where the chairman is photographed with his new signings rather than the manager. You want us to be patient now and watch the youngsters develop over time, providing the funds for our first team development rather than using some of the money they reportedly have (our resources) to continue our progression? Sorry, this is not what I envisaged when Rahic and Rupp took over from lawn and Rhodes and nor is it (I suspect) for many other City fans. Frankly, (imo) It is utter gash. I was so optimistic about the future, having finally had some success after years floundering around in the khazi league we were in business, but hey, let's throw all that progression away because someone reckons they know a better way that doesn't involve spending money? Great, im sure they do but please accept there will be those of us who think they have been had.
When it all turns out for the good, you can say " I told you so" and i won't argue but we will have to see.

 

If it is to be Drury, that would be a hard sell to the fans; edin has spoken to many candidates, many times and the best fit is the guy already at our club (and a bit of a disaster at park avenue).

The comedy would be strong here.

 

I don’t think @wetherbywhaler would have mentioned Ferguson if there wasn’t something in it.. unless of course it’s a bit of teasing

I'm stumped as to who it's going to be, logically it's not Drury as it would have already been announced. I can't see it being Ferguson based on the time lapse, he resigned on June 4th and we were well down the road with interviews by then. He was also apparently left with no choice but to go after discussions at several board meetings. Of the other British contenders, Heckingbottom is a no goer, Grant McCann hasn't applied, David Hopkin is a possible as he "apparently" flew back from holiday for a second interview however City seemed to deny he was high on their list and the same applies to Robbie Stockdale.

This leaves me wondering if someone not on our chart is suddenly going to resign unexpectedly from another British club in the next few days or Edin is bringing in a foreign coach. I'll probably end up with egg on my face but I'm plumping for a young foreign coach.

 

That is probably a good suggestion. I wish I knew for certain though.

 

I hate saying this but the 20k fans is great for support but not for revenue as we have such cheap season tickets. Don’t therefore think 20k fans means we should have more clout. The key going forward is how we can milk these fans from other revenue streams. Not sure we have done that yet which may be why Mason is under pressure

More to the point, why would Ferguson come here when his reason for leaving Donny was the budget? It’s hardly going to be much better here!
