Which I don't have, as I have proved time and again with my positive posts about Joe Riley, about the club shop coming back in house, with the prospective appointments of Heckingbottom, Warbutton, Hopkin, McCann when they became favourites for the job, I have been positive about O'Connor.

People must be a bit blinkered for some reason when I post because all the above and more are conveniently forgotten when they want to attack me for being miserable or negative.

 

You're just a realist mate, don't worry about those tinfoil happy clappers. They'll be quiet after a few months of the season

 

He's not wrong though. The majority of players are what they say on the tin. Otherwise we'd be signing cheap, past it journeymen and go with the assumption that they'll be brilliant. There's a reason why teams aspiring for promotion don't do that.

 

And certainly vica versa

Jamie Proctor - 1 goal all season for for Fleetwod - did well.
Tony McMahon - can't get in poor Blackpool side - did well.
Jon Stead - say no more on that one.
Aaron Mclean - great L1 record at Posh - crap.
Brad Jones - Liverpool reserve keeper - crap.
Paul Anderson - established CH player - crap.

 

Majority may be - but not all.

Writing off O'Connor because a few salty Aberdeen fans say he is crap on social media is utterly ludicrous.

 

The point is you are buying players with potential and trying to make them better we like the majority of the teams in our league are not in a position to buy players like Dack. You buy or sign players who you hope have been scouted well improve them and try and form a team. Players like Marriot fit into the sort of players you describe and he has been brought on and improved by McCann

Nowhere in his post did he mention "all", that's an additional factor you're adding in to suit your point. I'm not really surprised he's choosing to go with the 'majority' rather than the exception to the rule with you're adamant on naming. I cba going through each and every one but most of the names on your list are clutching at straws anyway. Marshall , mcardle and McMahon for example were already proven performers when we had signed them. Not exactly shock of the century they went onto to do great things. Their playing careers suggested they had it in them. You couldn't really judge Burke and Mcburnie on face value because there was no track record to judge them on. How much potential they had to succeed would have been a wild guess.

Anyway, I wouldn't call his post "crap" when in the majority of cases you happen to agree with him.

I take your point on O'Connor. The Aberdeen fans may well be looking for faults which aren't there if he had said something to upset them. How many of them were down to being "salty" and how many were accurate based on performances is anyone's guess at the moment. He apparently had successful spells at Plymouth and Burton so he's hopefully an Improvement on NKP or Killgalon.

 

I bet you’ll always find him on the kitchen at parties

 

Seems a solid signing for me. 38 games in the Scots prem league finishing second.
