I thought it might have been because of the aerial threat that Cheltenham have with there long throws etc but according to wiki both Rowe and Cook are 6'1"maybe Cook is the more aggressive of the two defending set pieces etc.

Maybe with the weather and, presumably a heavy pitch, they have decided to use a bit of battering ram/muscle tactics to start with to tire the defence then bring Rowe on later to give them the run around.

Looking at this picture of the Cheltenham pitch if it is with regards the pitch being heavy they might have got it wrong the pitch looks in fine condition.

 

Rowe looks just as capable physically in my opinion. If anything he looks even more of a unit than Cook

Sounds like it's more to do with Danny still recovering from his heavy cold than the state of the pitch.

 

Agree its a strange call for me, Rowe around the box offers a bigger threat than Cook, lets hope whatever the reason is it works.

 

He doesn't seem as up for the aerial challenge from what I've seen though.
